The newly added 3000 movies are streamed via the new partnership with known studios include Warner Bros, Universal and Sony Pictures. New movies available include Oscar-winner The King's Speech, Inception, The Green Hornet, Little Fockers and Despicable Me.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, "Rentals at YouTube start at $2.99 for library titles and $3.99 for new releases. Renters have 30 days to watch their chosen film but only 24 hours to finish once they have begun streaming."
"..you're spending just 15 minutes a day on YouTube, and spending five hours a day watching TV. As the lines between online and offline continue to blur, we think that's going to change", Salar Kamangar said.
YouTube wants to elongate users' stay on the site by the movie rental service. YouTube now offers not only full-length popular movies, but also some extras things include free behind-the-scenes videos, cast interviews, parodies, clips and remixes from YouTube's unique community of content creators. You can also view the movie reviews and comments from Rotten Tomatoes in the movies pages so that you can decide which movie to watch.
