YouTube Invites Users to Test Its New Playlist Player

YouTube is going to update its video player with brand new playlist and is asking users to test this new feature. We might be rather familiar with video playlist player, as we've seen video players with playlists on a lot of video sharing websites. And finally, YouTube is also ready to put on this favorable feature.

Jeff Posnick from YouTube API Team announced the above news on YouTube API Blog on July 14, 2011. Posnick said that they've completely rewritten the embedded player to enable users to embed the player on their web pages with the playlist, which consists of a series of related videos. The rendering is shown in the picture below:

To enable the playlist, you need to add "&version=3" to the end of the URL in the embed code. Here is an example:
http://www.youtube.com/p/E46798C874B35B7F?fs=1&version=3

You might have noticed the red switch button under the control bar. If you try to click on it, the thumbnail playlist will hide; click it again will trigger the player to show the thumbnail player again.

Note that it's under test. When the testing period ends on July 20, the playlist will be automatically added to the player. At that time, you don't need to add "&version=3" string to the embed code to activate the video playlist.

What's your opinion about the playlist player? You can write it down in the comment below.
